Every morning, before starting the activities of the day, we did some energizers, both organized by MAD for Europe and the Dutch team, being their weekly task. The idea was to help the participants leaving behind their fears, talking in English and starting to know each other’s better, and this is why most of the times were held in pairs, so they could have the chance to have deep conversations the fear of being judged by a wide group of people. They really enjoyed these short games and getting-to- know activities because they allowed them to mix and talk to all the other participants.
FEARS AND EXPECTATIONS
The first activity after the icebreaking ones was the fear and expectations held by the Romanian team. This was a great way to start to talk about the intentions and the expectations of the participants, as they could leave the judgements behind, open up and see how many fears were the same as a lot of the people in the room. Each participant received three post-its (yellow, pink and orange) and they wrote their expectations in the yellow one, their intention in the orange one and their fears on the They stick them in a flipchart in the meeting room, that was later sticked onto the wall. We checked daily in what measure their expectations were met and their fears were avoided.
