Activities

ICE BREAKERS
Every morning, before starting the activities of the day, we did some energizers. The idea was to help  the participants leaving behind their fears, talking in English and starting to know each others better.  They really enjoyed these short games because they allowed them to mix and talk to all the other  participants and permitted them to get in touch better with each others.

ACTIVITY 1 – DO YOU KNOW THE SDGs?
The participants, divided by country, presented 2 or 3 Sustainable Development Goals and the  situation of these in their countries of origin. They explained the situation in their country and the  measures that are being taken to achieve this objective. In this way, the different participants knew  the situation of the different countries.

ACTIVITY 2 - “WALKING TOUR OF MADRID”
MAD for Europe offered a walking tour around the city, so the participants had the occasion to see and know better the  venue of the project.

ACTIVITY 3 - “FEARS AND EXPECTATIONS”
The participants discussed about the fears and the expectations of the project. The activity was coordinated by France  who asked the participants writing about their feelings linked to the project.

ACTIVITY 4 - “PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT IN THE CONTEXT OF  ERASMUS+ PROGRAMME”
Participants learnt how the Erasmus+ world works and which opportunities it offers. They listened to a  presentation made by MAD for Europe, showing every important aspect of these opportunities.

ACTIVITY 5 - “WHAT WOULD I DO ”
One objective was randomly assigned to each group of participants as well as a  country. The groups had a description of the problems that this country has  in relation to the objective assigned to them and they must think of concrete  initiatives, and as original as possible, to develop that objective. Once they had  developed their initiatives, they must have presented it to the rest of the participants and  then they must have voted on what they think is the most original initiative and the one  that could have the biggest impact.

QUIZ 2030
In this activity, the participants, divided into teams, had to face each other to  answer the questions of the Quiz. As if it were in a television set, a question  related to the SDGs was asked and if the
team knows it, they should ring a bell  and answer it.

ACTIVITY 7 - “DO YOU KNOW AGENDA 2030”
In this activity the participants divided into groups (with participants from each  country) interviewed citizens, asking them questions about the 2030 Agenda.

ACTIVITY 8 – TREASURE HUNT
Participants in groups performed a gymkana in the center of Madrid and they moved thanks to the different tasks. Each of the tests was related to one of the  Sustainable Development Goals.

ACTIVITY 9 - “CREATE OUR EMBLEM”
Participants, divided in groups, created the logo of the project. They had to use their imagination, and create ideas  related to the “Very Important Youth” project. At the end, after an explanation of every one of them, they voted  the best one, that will be used as official logo of the project.
